1-2 p.m. CT. Introductions and introduction to podcasting and audio storytelling.

2-3:15 p.m. Introduction to interviewing and newswriting
(Kyle and Carol live):
a. Interviewing practice — Q&A, compiling questions. 
b. Podcast and news story critiques/discussion.  

3:15-3:30 p.m. Break

3:30-4 p.m. Studio sound, natural sound and finding SOTs
(Bryce pre-recorded; Kyle and Carol live) — Best practices for tech/equipment in the field (e.g., headphones, phone quality, etc.) 

4-5 p.m. Guest speaker TBD. 

5-6 p.m. Introduce final project and days ahead.

 

Tuesday, July 27

1-1:30 p.m. Editing 101
(Bryce pre-recorded session/techniques then transition to live)

1:30-2 p.m. Guest Speaker TBD.

2-3:15 p.m. Editing 102 Part I — Live training/interactions and practice (Bryce/Carol/Kyle live)

3:15-3:30 p.m. Break

3:30-5 p.m. Editing 102 Part II — Live training/interactions and practice (Bryce/Carol/Kyle live)

5-6 p.m. Final project questions/updates or guest speaker TBD.

1-2 p.m.: Multimedia examples — how to balance audio vs. text vs. social media.
Best practices and integration of multiple platforms.

2-3:15 p.m.: Guest speakers. Recent grads in the industry; industry multi-platform discussions.

3:15-3:30 p.m. Break

3:30-4 p.m. Check-in for final project. Q&A/discussion/concerns.

4-6 p.m. Work time for final project.
